Vehicle comes from New Jersey. The owner has been Ralph Voorhees, member of aristocratic family. He used this car sporadically. This car stayed more in garage or in front of his seat. According Chrysler’s imerial Ford decides in first half of fifty’s last century to made his own brand which would be able to compete that time the most luxury and expensive vehicles from Europe (Rolls – Royce, Bentley) and US (Cadilac & Packard, Imperial). The brand Continental being as a product of individually established division of the same name. Name Continental refers just to rival of European aka continenal vehicles. It produced only two years manufactory. There was newer serial production. Price of this vehicle was set to $10,000, comparable with Rolls – Royce and almost twice higher than of luxury Cadillacs. Nevertheless Ford failed to profit over $1,000 on each vehicle, but it was question of prestige. However the owners of this masterpiece were names like Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor, Nelson Rockefeller or president Dwight Eisenhower. It’s one of the most expensive vehicle you can see in European museums.
This kind of car has been given as a present to Liz Taylor by the movie studio which had one's car paint according the her's eyes's colour.
